Cast Iron Castings — Castings Made of High-Strength and Gray Cast Iron

Full-cycle foundry: castings made of high-strength (EN-GJS) and gray (EN-GJL) cast iron. Molding, Cold Box and Shell cores, up to 15,000 metric tons of finished castings per year.

The plant’s foundry specializes in the production of castings made from various grades of high-strength and gray cast iron.
We manufacture custom cast iron castings based on the customer’s drawings and samples—from single parts to production runs.
Our in-house melting and molding facilities, modern core-making technologies, and a full cycle of finishing processes enable us to produce up to 15,000 metric tons of finished castings per year with consistent quality and precise geometric dimensions.
We work with companies in the machine-building, machine-tool, pump, and power equipment industries, and we also supply castings for general industrial applications.

The grades of cast iron we use to produce castings:

High-strength cast iron (with spheroidal graphite, EN-GJS)

● EN-GJS-400-18 — components with high ductility and impact toughness
● EN-GJS-400-15 — housings and critical components
● EN-GJS-450-10 — a versatile grade with medium strength
● EN-GJS-500-7 — components with increased strength
● EN-GJS-600-3 — heavily loaded components, gears, shafts
● EN-GJS-700-2 — high-strength and wear-resistant parts

Gray cast iron (with flake graphite, EN-GJL)

● EN-GJL-200 — housings, plates, parts with good castability
● EN-GJL-250 — frames, housing parts
● EN-GJL-300 — parts with increased strength and wear resistance

In-house quality control laboratory

Every batch of castings undergoes testing in our in-house laboratory—from the composition of the molding sand to the chemical composition of the metal and the mechanical properties of the finished castings. This ensures compliance with the cast iron grade and consistent quality from the first part to the last.

Chemical and Metallographic Testing

The SpectroMAX LMA10 optical emission spectrometer determines the chemical composition of cast iron and steel, while the MMU-3 metallographic microscope examines the metal’s microstructure—the shape of the graphite and compliance with the EN-GJS / EN-GJL grade.

Mechanical Tests

The WAW-1000E testing machine tests metal for tensile and compressive strength with a force of up to 1,000 kN—this verifies the strength and ductility of castings in accordance with the material grade’s specified properties.

Control of the molding mixture

The laboratory monitors moisture content, gas permeability, compressive and shear strength, compactability, active bentonite content, and the particle size distribution of the mixture. A stable mixture ensures a clean casting surface and precise geometry.

The Rigidity of Forms and the Microclimate

A mold hardness tester (Scale “B”) monitors the quality of the compaction, while temperature and humidity measurements in the laboratory ensure the accuracy of all tests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear explanations for all the common questions and concerns you might have.

  • 01

What grades of cast iron do you use to produce castings?

    We cast high-strength ductile iron—EN-GJS-400-18, EN-GJS-400-15, EN-GJS-450-10, EN-GJS-500-7, EN-GJS-600-3, EN-GJS-700-2 — as well as gray cast iron with flake graphite — EN-GJL-200, EN-GJL-250, EN-GJL-300.

  • 02

What is the maximum production capacity?

The foundry produces up to 15,000 metric tons of finished castings per year. Two induction furnaces, each with a capacity of 6.0 metric tons, ensure a steady supply to the molding line.

  • 03

Can I order a casting based on my own drawing?

Yes. We manufacture custom castings based on drawings and part samples—from developing the manufacturing process and tooling to the finished casting.

  • 04

What rod-making technologies do you use?

We manufacture cores using the Cold Box and Shell methods. This allows us to achieve complex internal geometries in castings and high-quality surface finish in internal cavities.

  • 05

What is the minimum print run?

We handle both individual parts and production runs—we tailor the volume to your specific needs.

  • 06

How do you control the quality of your castings?

Each batch is tested in our in-house laboratory: the chemical composition of the metal is analyzed using a SpectroMAX LMA10 spectrometer, the microstructure is examined using an MMU-3 microscope, and the mechanical properties are tested using a WAW-1000E machine (up to 1,000 kN). This ensures compliance with the cast iron grade specifications.
